Students are admitted regardless of sex, race, religion, or family income. Phaung Daw Oo school provides free education for all students, as well as free room and board to all students in need. The majority of our students come from low-income families and cannot afford to attend government schools. Some students come from rural areas where no schooling is available. Other students’ hometowns might have been ravaged by civil war or natural disasters. Prior to coming to Phaung Daw Oo, many students had been impoverished, orphaned, abused, neglected, or abandoned.  Phaung Daw Oo also houses and educates many students of ethnic minorities, whom face additional language barriers.

Phaung Daw Oo offers classes from kindergarten level through high school. Students now can choose to continue their higher education at Phaung Daw Oo International University for their Diploma, Bachelor, or Master-level courses.
